You can apply for a new HDFC Bank Credit Card online or by visiting your nearest HDFC Bank branch. To apply online, follow these steps:
HDFC Bank sends a Credit Card statement every month to your registered email address which lists all your transactions. It includes the credit limit you have utilised, the payment due date and the total outstanding balance. The statement is generated as per your billing cycle.
Cash Advance service allows you to withdraw cash from ATMs using your Credit Card. The amount you can withdraw depends on your card type and the predetermined cash advance limit. The bank also levies interest on the withdrawn amount along with other applicable charges.
HDFC Bank charges specific fees on your Credit Card use as per your card category. These fees include annual maintenance charges, fees for cash advances, foreign currency conversion fees, late payment charges, interest on unpaid balances, fees for exceeding your credit limit, applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) and other charges as applicable.
Earn rewards and CashBack and enjoy exciting offers on your online and offline Credit Card transactions. You can redeem the accumulated reward points for brand vouchers, air miles, statement credit and more. Ensure to use your reward points before expiry.
When the Credit Card bill is generated, you have up to 20 days to pay the amount due. You must pay at least the minimum amount due before the due date to avoid late payment charges. You also have the option to make a part payment. However, the outstanding balance will accrue interest and applicable taxes.
Dos
Find the ideal card for you HDFC Bank offers a wide range of Credit Cards to suit every lifestyle. You can choose your preferred Credit Card from our bouquet of offerings, based on your eligibility.
Read the Terms & Conditions You must check the Terms & Conditions concerning credit limits, interest rates, cash withdrawals, fees, waivers, discounts, Credit Card offers, etc. when applying for a Credit Card online.
Repay dues on time Repaying dues in full showcases your creditworthiness to the bank leading to a healthy credit score. This lets you enjoy a bunch of benefits and offers.
Benefit from increased credit limit HDFC Bank will inform you if you qualify for an increase in your credit limit. You can take advantage of the enhanced credit limit and enjoy additional reward points and offers, as per your spends.
Keep your card secure Protect your card from theft and your card information from being compromised.
Stay informed about payment dates The billing date is when the bank sends you an itemised bill comprising their Credit Card spending during the last billing cycle, and the payment date is the date on or before which you must clear your dues. You need to keep track of these dates to avoid late payment charges.
Monitor your spends You are advised to keep a track of your Credit Card spends to avoid fraudulent transactions. You can do so by opting for SMS and email alerts for every transaction on your Credit Card. Additionally, in case you suspect any fraudulent transactions it is recommended to inform the Bank and promptly block the card.
Don'ts
Don’t over utilise the entire credit limit Over-utilisation of the credit limit can impact your credit score and can put an additional financial burden on you, making the repayment difficult. It is advisable to manage credit responsibly to maintain a healthy credit score.
Don’t apply for too many Credit Cards While it may seem wise to have more Credit Cards and extended credit limits, especially during emergencies, applying for multiple Credit Cards may not be prudent. It can reflect as need for more credit or imply risk-taking tendencies and may impact your credit score.
Don’t pay just the minimum due Paying only the minimum amount due on your Credit Card is not recommended. By choosing this option, you would typically carry forward the remaining amount to the next cycle, incurring an interest rate on the delayed payment and increasing your overall Credit Card debt.
Understanding how to use a Credit Card wisely is vital. Consider these security tips.
Avoid sharing Credit Card details Your Credit Card comprises details like your name, card number, expiration date, and CVV number. While making online transactions, you must enter these details. You must also input the 4-digit PIN along with a One Time Password (OTP) the bank sends on your registered mobile number to authenticate the transaction. Ensure secure transactions by not sharing your PIN or OTP with anyone.
You can activate your card for international usage anytime. We recommend you deactivate it soon after arriving in India. You must inform us immediately upon losing your card or if you notice fraudulent or suspicious transactions on your card. The bank will block the card immediately in such cases.
Manage your account details You should always use a strong password for your banking needs. Regularly tracking your account statement is an excellent way to check against unauthorised transactions. If you ever spot any unknown transaction, let your bank know immediately. You can also set transaction limits with your bank to control the extent of loss if you ever become a victim of any fraud.

Hands down one of the best credit cards in my opinion when it comes to cashback. Millennia is my primary card so I have accumulated a significant number of points. I usually convert the points to statement credit to get a reduced card bill. If you don't travel that often, go for the 1k voucher as the milestone benefit.
I was able to get the Swiggy credit card quickly as I was pre-approved. Applied online without having to submit any documents and got a decent limit as well. If you use Swiggy a lot, I'd definitely recommend this card since you also get cashback.
The Pixel Credit Card is great for beginners, and I really like the cashback offers. I use it mostly for dining out due to the massive dineout discounts!
The Millennia Credit card is a good core banking card especially if you're a beginner. I've been using the card for some time now and it's a no-fuss card. You can get cashback as cashpoints and redeem them for vouchers or statement credit. I got in touch with customer care for changing the billing date, they processed the request immediately.
If you travel a lot, don't sleep on the Regalia Gold Credit Card. You get lounge access, 2% mark up on forex, and emergency hospitalisation cover for international travel…I book my flights through Smartbuy for additional cashback. Would also recommend activating Global Value Program for 1% cashback on international transactions. Totally worth it.
I dine out quite often so I opted for the Swiggy Credit Card. Application process was surprisingly straightforward. No paperwork required, got a decent limit and also the physical card was delivered within a week. I would definitely recommend!
One of the best features of the Pixel Credit Card is selecting merchants that I often shop from, I can get more value out of the card. Also, this credit card can be easily managed through PayZapp.
Got a pre-approved offer for Diners Club privilege recently. Since I was pre-approved, the application process was very quick.
The MoneyBack+ Credit Card is great for frequent online shoppers and diners like me. It's a generally good card for everyday expenses. Easy online application process too.
I got the Tata Neu Credit Card RuPay variant mainly for UPI payments which also gives decent cashback as Neucoins which you can redeem for air travel, hotel booking, etc. I also got my limit upgraded through the customer care easily. Good card, good experience with customer support.
