Digital Services Available for Demat and Trading Account Holders

e-Voting:

According to the Companies Act 2013, every listed company or company with at least 1,000 shareholders must allow its members to vote at general meetings electronically. E-voting enables company security holders to vote on resolutions electronically from anywhere and at any time during the voting period, using the electronic voting system developed by NSDL and CDSL Ventures Ltd (CVL).

KYC attributes updation in Demat Account

Individual Single Demat account holders can now digitally update KYC details like email ID and income range. Click here to update. *For NSDL account holders with a registered mobile number only.

  • NSDL Individual Joint holders and CDSL individual demat account holders can update KYC details by submitting a physical request at the DP servicing branch. Download the physical request form (NSDL/CDSL) and submit it to your nearest demat servicing centre: https://near-me.hdfcbank.com/branch-atm-locator/.  

 

Digital nomination: 

  • Individual Single Demat* account holders can now digitally update their nomination details. Ensure to submit a nomination or Opt-Out to keep your Demat account active.

    • For 2-in-1 Bank Demat and HDFC Securities Trading accounts, click here to nominate for both Demat and Trading accounts (NSDL/CDSL single holder).
    • NSDL individual joint holders and CDSL individual Demat Account holders can update their nomination by submitting a physical request at the DP servicing branch. Download the  Physical Nomination Form and submit it to your nearest demat servicing centre: https://near-me.hdfcbank.com/branch-atm-locator/.
    • Nomination details cannot be modified online. If nominee details or consent already given need to be modified, a physical request application must be submitted by visiting the nearest DP servicing branch. A maximum of 3 nominees can be added.  

     

SPEED-E & Easiest:

Single Standalone Demat Account Holders can submit instructions online via SPEED-e (for NSDL account holders) by visiting https://eservices.nsdl.com or via Easiest (for CDSL account holders) by visiting https://web.cdslindia.com/myeasitoken/Home/Login  

CAS (Electronic Consolidated Account Statement) Registration facility:

IDeAS (Internet-based Demat Account Statement) & Easy:

For online access to your eCAS statement, Single Standalone Demat Account Holders can use IDeAS (for NSDL Demat Account holders at https://eservices.nsdl.com/) or Easi (for CDSL Demat Account holders at :https://web.cdslindia.com/myeasi/Registration/EasiRegistration).  

Demat Account Digital Closure Process For a Demat account held by an Individual Single Demat Account holder categorised as: Resident Ordinary:

  • Resident Indian holding a Single Demat account.
  • Active demat account, whether with or without securities/stock holdings.
  • Single Demat account held by a Resident Indian. Type of Online closure request For a Demat Account with nil holdings:
  • Submit an online request; no documents are needed. For a Demat Account with asset holdings (transfer and closure):
  • Securities/stocks are present and need transferring to another demat account under the same PAN and Depository.
  • Required documents:
    • Digitally signed Client Master Report (CMR).
    • Scan of signature.

  • PAN recorded in the source Demat Account must match the target Demat Account for securities transfer requests.
  • The uploaded signature scan must match the signature in the source Demat Account; mismatched applications will be rejected.
  • The account holder must sign the application as the beneficial owner.
  • Submit the digitally signed Client Master Report (CMR) of the target Demat Account.
  • Ensure all conditions are met before submitting the account closure request.
  • Processing may take up to 7 working days.
