• Annual fees: ₹ 200 + taxes

• All HDFC Bank customers who open an NRO Account are eligible for the RuPay NRO Debit Card. The card is issued on Account Opening.*
• No additional documents are required for issuing the RuPay NRO Debit Card to existing HDFC Bank account holders. When the card expires, a new card is automatically sent to the registered address.

Lounge access 

• 2 Complimentary Domestic Lounge Access per annum (1 Lounge access every 6-months)
  
  Effective 20th April 2026, RuPay Platinum Debit Cardholders will be eligible for a complimentary access to airport lounge only if:
  1. They have spent a minimum of Rs 20,000 or more in a half yearly cycle (i.e. April - Sep | October - March)
  2. Lounge access will be voucher based instead of card dip/swipe at the airport lounge

  Note : Between 1st April'26 to 19th April'26 , in case customer wants to use the lounge- the access would need to be paid for by the customer.

Higher Debit Card Limits with Card Controls

• Daily Domestic ATM withdrawal limits: ₹1 lakh

• Daily Domestic Shopping limits: ₹2.75 lakh 

• Cash withdrawal facility can now be availed across merchant establishments with a maximum upper limit of ₹2,000/transaction on your HDFC Bank Debit Cards, maximum Cash at POS limit per month is of ₹10,000/-

Dynamic Limits

• Please login to NetBanking to change (increase or decrease) the limit on your Debit Card to suit your needs. Please note the limits can be increased up to the Permissible limits on your Debit Card.  

• For Security reasons, ATM cash withdrawal limit is capped at ₹0.5 lakh per day and ₹10 lakh per month for first 6 months from Account opening date. For accounts older than 6 months, ATM cash withdrawal limit is capped at ₹2 lakh per day and ₹10 lakh per month. This is implemented with immediate effect.

• You are entitled to a Comprehensive Insurance Cover up to ₹ 2 lakh from NPCI, which includes insurance against accidental injuries caused by all kind of Personal Accidents, Accidental Death and Permanent Total Disability. For updated details on the Comprehensive Insurance Cover, click here.

• The claim shall be payable only if the cardholder has carried out at least one transaction (POS / E-com / Standing Instruction) in every 30 days using RuPay Debit Card to keep the Insurance cover active.

• In the event the Insured Person(s) having multiple Cards issued by the Insured named in the Schedule, the Insurance Policy shall be applicable only for the Card, which has the highest Sum Insured / limit of Indemnity

Your HDFC Bank RuPay NRO Debit Card gives you access to your HDFC Bank Account at the following locations: 
 
1. At Merchant Outlets for Shopping

• Your card can be used online on domestic websites. Effective 1st December 2013, as per RBI mandate you need to complete the Point-of-Sale transaction at merchant location using your ATM PIN. Effective 1st December 2013, transaction at merchant outlet will be declined if wrong/NO PIN entered

• Present your Card to the merchant after selecting your purchases. The merchant will swipe the Card through the electronic terminal and enter the amount of purchase

• On approval, the terminal will print out a transaction slip with all the details of the purchases. Check the slip and sign at the appropriate place. Your account with HDFC Bank will be debited online for the amount of your purchase (Subject to availability of funds in your account)

• The merchant will return a copy of the transaction slip and your Card. Please ensure that you have received your own Card.

2. For online shopping with your RuPay NRO Debit Card

RuPay NRO Debit Card is enabled* for Contactless Payments at retail outlets.  

The HDFC Bank Debit Card is enabled for contactless payments, facilitating fast, convenient and secure payments at retail outlets. 
*To see if your Card is contactless, look for the contactless network symbol on your Card. You can use your Card to make quick transactions at merchant locations accepting contactless Cards.

• Please note that in India, payment through contactless mode is allowed for a maximum of ₹5,000 for a single transaction where you are not asked to input your Debit Card PIN. However, if the amount is higher than or equal to ₹5,000, the Card holder has to enter the Debit Card PIN for security reasons.

• Kindly note, effective 1 June 2015, Movida service will be discontinued for HDFC Bank Debit Cards.

• Please Note - In case purchase/ transaction is returned/ cancelled/ reversed, CashBack points toward posted towards transactions will be reversed.

• As per RBI guidelines RBI/2019-2020/142 DPSS.CO.PD No. 1343/02.14.003/2019-20 dated 15 January 2020, all Debit Cards issued effective 1st Oct' 2020, are or will be enabled only for Domestic usage (PoS & ATM) and disabled for Domestic (E-commerce & contactless) and International usage. This is to improve user convenience and increase the security of card transactions.

• Fuel Surcharge: Effective 1st January 2018, Fuel Surcharge would not be applicable for the transactions done on HDFC Bank swipe machines on government petrol outlets (HPCL/IOCL/BPCL).
