Classic Platinum Debit Card

The Classic Platinum Debit Card will be issued to Classic Customers only. Both Residents and NREs can apply. 

Resident Indians should hold one of the following: 

• Savings Account 
• Current Account 
• SuperSaver Account 
• Loan Against Shares Account (LAS)  
• Salary Account

No additional documents are required for issuing the Classic Platinum Debit Card to existing HDFC Bank account holders. When the card expires, a new card is automatically sent to the registered address. 

Upgrade Card

• Issuance of the new upgraded Debit Card is subject to successful processing of the request as per customer eligibility. The upgraded Debit Card will be delivered to mailing address on record within Next 5 Working Days (for Metro Locations). To know your location specific delivery time, please click here.
• Your existing Debit Card will get deactivated within 3 working days of receipt of your new upgraded Debit Card. (In case your new Debit Card is sent to Branch, the existing Debit Card shall be de-activated after 15 days from date of dispatch of the new Debit Card)

• CashBack points need to be redeemed through NetBanking minimum 250, no maximum capping on redemption subject to availability. 
• Customer can view the points in NetBanking in 2 working days from the date of transaction. 
• Product feature CashBack points will be valid for redemption within the next 12 months after which your Cashback points will lapse.  
• All promotional CashBack points earned on your Debit Card will have a validity of 3 months, post which the accumulated points will expire effective February 2020. 
• Customer is not eligible for redemption of cashback points on account closure.
• Customers can redeem the cashback points through NetBanking

Insurance

• ₹3 crore additional international air coverage on your Debit Card.

Please login to NetBanking to change (Increase or decrease) the limit* on your Debit Card to suit your needs. Please note the limits can be increased up to the Permissible limits on your Debit Card. *For Security reasons, ATM cash withdrawal limit is capped at ₹0.5 lakh per day and ₹10 lakh per month for first 6 months from Account opening date.  

For accounts older than 6 months, ATM cash withdrawal limit is capped at ₹ 2 lakh per day and ₹ 10 lakh per month. This is implemented with immediate effect.

Classic Platinum Debit Card is enabled* for Contactless Payments at retail outlets.  The HDFC Bank Debit Card is enabled for contactless payments, facilitating fast, convenient and secure payments at retail outlets.  
*To see if your Card is contactless, look for the contactless network symbol on your Card. You can use your Card to make quick transactions at merchant locations accepting contactless Cards.

• Please note that in India, payment through contactless mode is allowed for a maximum of ₹5,000 for a single transaction where you are not asked to input your Debit Card PIN. However, if the amount is higher than or equal to ₹5,000, the Card holder has to enter the Debit Card PIN for security reasons. 

• Kindly note, effective 1 June 2015, Movida service will be discontinued for HDFC Bank Debit Cards. 

• Please Note - In case purchase/ transaction is returned/ cancelled/ reversed, CashBack points toward posted towards transactions will be reversed. 

• As per RBI guidelines RBI/2019-2020/142 DPSS.CO.PD No. 1343/02.14.003/2019-20 dated 15 January 2020, all Debit Cards issued effective 1 Oct' 2020, are or will be enabled only for Domestic usage (PoS & ATM) and disabled for Domestic (E-commerce & contactless) and International usage. This is to improve user convenience and increase the security of card transactions.
