The merger of HDFC Ltd (eHL) and HDFC Bank Ltd (HDFCB) happened on 1st July 2023. As an important milestone, Bank is now in the process of system migration from erstwhile HDFC Ltd to HDFC Bank Ltd.

What remains Unchanged

  • Terms and Conditions of the erstwhile HDFC Ltd Deposits till FD maturity / liquidation 

  • Access to existing Customer Portal continues till further notice 

  • Existing FD / RD advice remains valid till maturity 

  • Servicing of accounts through any of the HDFC Bank Branches 

  • Interest Rates and calculations logic till FD maturity / liquidation

Renewal of your eHDFC FD will happen as per Bank’s terms and the Bank’s prevailing rates of interest at the time of renewal will apply. To know more of HDFC Bank’s current interest rates visit HDFC Bank website https://www.hdfc.bank.in/interest-rates

There will be no change in interest pay-out option for Monthly & Quarterly interest plans on deposits renewed/ auto-renewed. However, for deposits with half-yearly and annual interest plans, auto-renewal will be under the quarterly interest plan offered by HDFC Bank.

  • If you hold an existing HDFC Bank Current or Savings Account as a Single Holder / Proprietor, you can book new fixed / recurring deposits online via HDFC Bank Net/Mobile Banking. In case a Fixed deposit is to be booked in the name of multiple deposit holders or the deposit is to be booked using funds from another Bank (other than HDFC Bank), Online Customer Portal can be used. Deposit Agents can also initiate Online FD booking for multiple holders or where other bank is used for funding. Besides, you can also visit any nearest HDFC Bank Branch or speak to your Deposit Agent. For Entities, Non-Resident Individuals and Minors, New Deposits can only be booked offline at any HDFC Bank Branch or through any Deposit Agent. Option of opening a New Recurring Deposit is only available to existing Current & Savings Account holders. 

  • NRE / FCNR Deposits: You can open New NRE/ FCNR Term deposit with HDFC Bank on Bank’s T&C. In order to open NRE/FCNR deposits online, you need to open a new NRE Savings / Current account. In case you already hold NRE Savings / Current account with HDFC Bank then you may login to Net Banking for placing a request for NRE / FCNR Term deposit opening.
    In case you wish to open NRE Savings / Current Account but are unable to visit the branch you can fill in our NRI lead application form available on our website and our account opening team will assist. Alternatively, in case you are able to visit any of our branches then you can submit physical application for opening NRE / FCNR Term deposits and NRE Savings / Current Account.

  • NRO Deposits: You can open New NRO Term deposit with HDFC Bank on Bank’s T&C. In order NRO Term deposit opening. In case you wish to open NRO Savings / Current Account but are unable to visit the branch you can fill in our NRI lead application form and our account opening team will assist you, alternatively, in case you can visit any of our branches then you can submit physical application for opening NRO Term deposits and NRO Savings / Current Account.

Please Note: The new deposit placements may require you to complete requirements with regard to ‘Know Your Customer’ guidelines. Kindly visit your HDFC Bank Branch to complete the KYC process. 

NRI depositors need to submit physical request to update Re-KYC on bank records or in case they wish to make any changes to details like address, contact details, DOB updation etc updated on erstwhile HDFCL NRO Deposit accounts. The forms and documents required would be as per existing process of HDFC Bank applicable for NRI Customers. 

NRI Re-KYC updation request can be submitted at the nearest branch by visiting the bank branch in person with all original KYC documents. In case you are unable to visit the branch and wish to submit the request under non-face to face basis then along with RE KYC form you need to submit certified copies of KYC documents and KYC documents needs to be certified by designated authorities

Your existing recurring deposit will continue and monthly instalment will be debited from the linked account as updated against the RD as per the mandate submitted. 

HDFC Limited Deposit Centres are now HDFC Bank Branches from where you will continue to be serviced. Moreover, you can reach out to any of the 9500+ branches of HDFC Bank.

  • Individual customers holding single deposits as well as Current or Savings Account in single capacity can change the maturity instructions (renewal to repayment or vice versa) on the migrated FD of eHDFC Limited using Net Banking or by visiting any of the HDFC Bank branches. 

  • Individual Customers holding joint deposits (Jointly / Either or Survivor / Former or Survivor) and Non-Individual customers can change the Maturity Instructions (renewal to repayment or vice versa) on Fixed Deposit of eHDFC Limited by submitting request at any of the HDFC Bank Branches.

Yes, your migrated eHDFC Limited FD will also be covered by guarantee from DICGC, within an overall maximum limit of Rs 5 lacs (Principle & Interest).

The Bank is committed to continue the arrangement with your associated Deposit Agent and they will be able to offer you services related to FDs. In addition, the Agents will now be able to offer you other banking products, like Savings Account, Current Accounts and an array of Loan products, such as Home Loans, Loan against Property, Vehicle Loans, Personal & Business Loans and Gold Loans.

  • The new Fixed Deposit / Recurring Deposit account number will be communicated to you by way of Email / Letter on the address as registered

  • Alternatively, you can login to your HDFC Bank Netbanking / Customer Portal for the new deposit account number

  • You can also visit any of the HDFC Bank branch for assistance on your new Deposit account number

  • In case you have an existing Savings account with the bank, you may visit the HDFC banks digital platform to book a new Recurring Deposit

  • For customers who don’t have an existing Bank account with HDFC Bank, we request you to open a Savings Account with HDFC Bank through which you can book an RD.
