Mr. Sudhir Kumar Jha

Mr. Sudhir Kumar Jha is the Group Head of the Legal function and Group General Counsel at HDFC Bank since July 2023.

Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Jha worked with HDFC Ltd. His experience includes working with DCM Group, Larsen & Toubro and ICICI Bank. In his previous role, he was a Member of Executive Management (MoEM) and the General Counsel of HDFC Ltd. and headed the Corporate Legal function. He has vast experience of handling legal matters pertaining to capital market transactions, financial restructuring and structured product transactions for companies in the financial and manufacturing sectors. He has played an integral role in the growth and expansion of HDFC Ltd.

Mr. Jha is a Corporate Lawyer having qualified from the Campus Law Center, University of Delhi. He specialised in International Trade and Finance from Oxford University and did a Master’s in Financial Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Mumbai. He is currently in the process of completing his Ph.D. in Finance from XLRI University, Jamshedpur.
