Mr. Jigar Shah

Mr. Jigar Shah is the Group Head – Corporate Legal and General Counsel at HDFC Bank. He joined the Bank in August 2026.

Mr. Shah has over three decades of experience across legal, compliance, governance and regulatory matters in the banking and financial services sector. Prior to joining HDFC Bank, Mr. Shah had worked with Elmcroft Consulting Services, KKR India, JPMorgan Chase Bank (India) and held senior legal leadership roles at Deutsche Bank across India, Hong Kong and London.

Mr. Shah began his legal career in the United Kingdom, working with leading international law firms before moving into financial services. 

Over the course of his career, Mr. Shah has been recognised among India's leading in-house legal professionals and has contributed to several industry and regulatory initiatives.

Mr. Shah holds an LLB (Hons.) degree from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, completed his Law Society Finals from The College of Law, Guildford, and is admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales.
