Mr. Rakesh K. Singh

Mr. Rakesh K. Singh is Group Head - Private Banking, International Banking, Financial Institutions and BaaS at HDFC Bank. 

Mr. Singh has over three decades of experience in managing Client Relationships, Financial Institutions, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Wealth & Private Banking, Structured Finance, Liabilities Products, Managed Programs, International Banking and Banking as a Service (BaaS) and Proprietary Investments. 

Prior to joining HDFC Bank, he worked with Rothschild, Morgan Stanley, DSP Merrill Lynch, Standard Chartered Bank and ANZ Investment Bank. Mr. Singh joined the Bank in 2011 and has been instrumental in setting up the Investment Banking and Project Finance, GCC and Financial Sponsor Coverage and BaaS business for HDFC Bank. 

Mr. Singh leads the Private Banking business and under his leadership, the Private Banking Business has significantly grown with an AUM of close to ₹ 6.5 lakh crore as of 30th September 2025 across over 84,000 families in India and overseas.

HDFC Bank was honoured with the ‘Best Private Bank for Customer Service - Asia’ award at the Global Private Banking Awards 2025, organised by Professional Wealth Management (PWM) and was highly commended in the category of ‘Best Private Bank – India’. In the Global Private Banking Innovation Awards 2025, HDFC Bank was awarded 'Best Domestic Private Bank - India', 'Best Private Bank for Insurance' and 'Best Wealth Management for $100-$250k AUM'.

HDFC Bank was adjudged as "India's Best for HNW" in the Euromoney Private Banking Awards 2025. In the Global Private Banking Awards 2024 organised by Professional Wealth Management (PWM), published by the Financial Times, HDFC Bank was adjudged the Best Private Bank in India. In 2023, Professional Wealth Management (PWM) adjudged HDFC Bank as the Best Private Bank for Education and Training of Private Bankers (Asia), Best Private Bank for Growth Strategy (Asia) and Highly Commended in the Best Private Bank in India category. 

Mr. Singh is an MBA from Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad and has completed Technology Leadership Program with University of California (UC), Berkeley, USA. 

He serves as a Trustee on the Board of Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action (SNEHA) and as Committee Member - Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) National Committee on Banking.

Mr. Singh has served as a Nominee Director on the Board of National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited (NARCL) and as a Member of the Steering Committee of Climate Finance Leadership Initiative (CFLI), India.
