Mr. Sanjay D’Souza

Mr. Sanjay D’Souza is currently the Group Head – Business Banking, Emerging Enterprises and Micro Enterprises Groups at HDFC Bank. In his current role, he is responsible for growing the Bank’s footprint in these business segments within the risk framework of the Bank.

Mr. D’Souza joined the Bank in 1999 in Retail Assets – Loan Against Securities business. He has over 33 years of experience in finance and banking. He has been associated with HDFC Bank for more than 25 years in varied roles encompassing the domains of credit and business predominantly in the MSME space besides various retail asset, credit card and payment products.

Mr. D’souza was instrumental in setting up the MSME business within HDFC Bank in the early years. His wide and varied credit experience in this area helped in not only understanding and building the business but also in maintaining portfolio quality. He played a pivotal role in managing the risk profile of the MSME portfolio with minimum NPA slippages.

In Dec 2023, he was instrumental in incubating a business unit called Micro Enterprises Group, focussed on high yielding micro PSL loans to retailers and small businesses largely using Banking and GST information from the customers.

Mr. Sanjay D'Souza holds a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and a MMS in Finance.
