Mr. Sanjay D’Souza

Mr. Sanjay D’Souza is currently Group Head – Emerging Enterprises and Micro Enterprises Groups at HDFC Bank. In his current role, he is responsible for growing the Bank’s footprint in these business segments within the risk framework of the Bank.

Mr. D’Souza joined the Bank in 1999 in Retail Assets – Loan Against Securities business. He has over 33 years of experience in finance and banking. He has been associated with HDFC Bank since 25 years in varied roles encompassing the domains of credit and business predominantly in the MSME space besides various retail assets, credit cards and payment products.

Mr. D’souza was instrumental in setting up the MSME business within HDFC Bank in the early years. His wide and varied credit experience in this area helped not only understand and build the business but also maintain portfolio quality. He played a pivotal role in managing the risk profile of the MSME portfolio with minimum NPA slippages.

In Dec 2023, he was instrumental in incubating a startup as Micro Enterprises Group, focussed to do high yielding micro PSL loans to retailers and small businesses largely using Banking and GST information from the customers.

Mr. Sanjay D'Souza hold a Bachelors in Engineering in Mechanical and a MMS in Finance. In his free time, Sanjay enjoys cycling, trekking, indulging in strength training and yoga.
