Methods to Generate or Reset Debit Card PIN

Insta Services

  • Go to Insta services on hdfcbank.com > Debit Card Insta PIN > Set PIN.

  • Validate yourself using your registered mobile number and DOB/PAN/Customer ID.

  • Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number. 

  • Accept the terms and conditions and continue. 

  • After the first factor authentication, you will land on the generate PIN page.

  • Here, you will be able to see a list of all your Account details.

  • Choose the Account number and your Debit Card number associated with that Account.

  • Enter your new PIN and don’t forget to re-confirm it. 

  • Once you have entered your new PIN, hit continue.

  • Review your information; if it is accurate, click on confirm.

  • To authenticate yourself, you can choose from two options: Debit Card or NetBanking.

MobileBanking

  • Log in > click on the Cards Tab.

  • Go to the Debit Card menu and choose the ‘Instant PIN Generation’ option.

  • Select the Debit Card number and set up a new Debit Card PIN.

  • Authenticate with the OTP received on your registered Mobile Number. 

  • Set a new PIN.

MI support 

NetBanking

  • Log in to NetBanking and click on the cards tab.

  • Go to the Debit Cards menu.

  • Select ‘PIN Re-generation’ under the Request Tab, choose the Debit Card number, and continue.

  • Select a ‘Reason’ and confirm to get OTP on your registered mobile number. 

  • Input the 6-digit OTP received by SMS and confirm.

  • Type your registered mobile number and confirm.

  • Enter and confirm the new 4-digit PIN of your choice.

You could then use the newly generated PIN at the point-of-sale machine. 

MI support 

PhoneBanking/IVR

  • Call HDFC Bank PhoneBanking number.

  • Validate your Telephone Identification Number (TIN). It is a 4-digit number that is provided to you by HDFC Bank for accessing the PhoneBanking Service.

  • Follow IVR instructions to select Debit Card PIN Generation.

  • Verify with OTP and reset the Debit Card PIN.

MyCards

  • Log in to MyCards through your registered mobile number and enter OTP.

  • For new customers, add your Debit Card.

  • Enter the last 4-digits of your Debit Card and DOB.

  • Click on add > set PIN. 

  • Verify through mobile number and DOB/PAN/Customer ID.

  • SR Reference Number will be generated and proceed after OTP verification.

  • Enter the PIN.

  • Authenticate through Net Banking credentials, and your PIN is generated.

ATM

  • Choose the Forgot PIN or Re-generate ATM PIN option on the screen.

  • You will get redirected to enter your registered mobile number for OTP.

  • Enter the OTP using the ATM keypad, and you will get redirected to choose another PIN.

  • The reset through this mechanism happens immediately, and you can withdraw cash once it resets. 

  • Once done, ensure to collect the card.

  • Before you start, ensure:
  • An active Debit Card is linked to your Account.
  • Your registered mobile number is active to get OTPs.
  • You have valid NetBanking/MobileBanking login details or Debit Card and ATM access.
  • Your Aadhaar/PAN details are updated for verification.

Who Can Regenerate Debit Card PIN?

  • A Resident Individual or Senior Citizen holding Savings/Salary Account(s).
  • Non-resident Individuals having an Indian Mobile Number updated in the Bank records.
  • Customers having Account(s) with a holding pattern as Singly or Either-or Survivor.
  • Customers having Account(s) with a holding pattern jointly.
