Mr. Puneet Sharma

Mr. Puneet Sharma is the Group Head - Finance and Chief Financial Officer - Designate at HDFC Bank. He joined the Bank in September 2026.

Mr. Sharma brings over two and half decades of experience across banking, financial services and strategy. He previously served as Group Head and CFO at Axis Bank and before that, as CFO of Tata Capital Limited and Tata Capital Financial Services Limited.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Sharma held leadership roles at Citibank and The Boston Consulting Group, gaining extensive experience across banking, treasury operations, strategy, financial management, setting up overseas businesses and business operations.

Over the course of his career, he has built expertise across financial planning, capital management, financial reporting, investor relations, governance, and regulatory engagement. Mr. Sharma has been a Board member on multiple Tata Capital and Axis Bank subsidiaries and brings several years of experience in working with Boards, regulators, investors, and other key stakeholders.

Mr. Sharma is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
