Dynamic Limits

• For Security reasons, ATM cash withdrawal limit is capped at ₹0.5 lakh per day and ₹ 10 lakh per month for first 6 months from Account opening date. For accounts older than 6 months, ATM cash withdrawal limit is capped at ₹2 lakh per day and ₹10 lakh per month. This is implemented with immediate effect. 

Insurance Cover

PMJDY OLD** – RuPay PMJDY Cards issued on PMJDY Accounts opened till 28th Aug 2018  

PMJDY New* – RuPay PMJDY Cards issued on PMJDY Accounts opened after 28th August 2018 

• The claim shall be payable only if the cardholder has carried at least one transaction (POS / E-com / ATM) within 90 days prior to date of event using RuPay Debit Card to keep the Insurance cover active. 

• In the event the Insured Person(s) having multiple Cards issued by the Insured named in the Schedule, the Insurance Policy shall be applicable only for the Card, which has the highest Sum Insured / limit of Indemnity

Fuel Surcharge

• Effective 1st January 2018, Fuel Surcharge would not be applicable for the transactions done on HDFC Bank swipe machines on government petrol outlets (HPCL/IOCL/BPCL).

• The HDFC Bank Debit Card is enabled for contactless payments, facilitating fast, convenient and secure payments at retail outlets. To see if your Card is contactless, look for the contactless network symbol on your Card. You can use your Card to make quick transactions at merchant locations accepting contactless Cards.

• (Please note that in India, payment through contactless mode is allowed for a maximum of ₹5,000 for a single transaction where you are not asked to input your Debit Card PIN. However, if the amount is higher than or equal to ₹5,000, the Card holder has to enter the Debit Card PIN for security reasons.)

The following are the eligibility criteria to apply for the HDFC Bank RuPay PMJDY Debit Card:

• Resident individuals (sole or joint account holders) are eligible.
• The customer must not have an existing BSBD Account with any other bank.
• The customer should not hold any other Savings Account with HDFC Bank.

Do you already have a HDFC Bank Account?
No additional documents are required for issuing the RuPay PMJDY Debit Card to existing HDFC Bank Account holders. When the card expires, a new card is automatically sent to the registered address

Don't have a HDFC Bank Account?
Download the Account Opening form, print it, and enter your information. This form will include the International Debit Card application - there's no need to fill two forms. Take the submission to your closest HDFC Bank branch and we'll complete the process. 

The following are the fees and charges associated with the HDFC Bank RuPay PMJDY Debit Card:

• Annual fees: Nil
• Replacement / Reissuance charges: ₹240 + applicable taxes*W.e.f. 1st May 2026 

• As per RBI guidelines RBI/2019-2020/142 DPSS.CO.PD No. 1343/02.14.003/2019-20 dated 15th January 2020, all Debit Cards issued effective 1st Oct' 2020, are or will be enabled only for Domestic usage (PoS & ATM) and disabled for Domestic (E-commerce & contactless) and international usage. This is to improve user convenience and increase the security of card transactions.
