How to View Your Unbilled Credit Card Statement on the New HDFC Bank App

Every swipe affects your available credit limit even before it appears on your statement.

Synopsis:

  • Unbilled Credit Card statement shows transactions you’ve already made but are not billed yet.

  • Tracking your unbilled transactions lets you anticipate your upcoming Credit Card bills.

  • You can check whether transactions were successful or not.

  • Through HDFC Bank  App, you can share track your unbilled transactions at any time, any place.

Overview

One of the important components of Credit Card spending is unbilled transactions. These are transactions you’ve already made but have not been added to your current Credit Card statement. While these may not require immediate payment, unbilled transactions still impact your available credit limit and contribute to your next bill. Here’s how you can track your unbilled Credit Card transactions on the HDFC Bank app.

What is an Unbilled Credit Card Statement?

An Unbilled Credit Card transaction is the one that has not been billed in the current statement. It will be billed in the upcoming statement.

• Example: Billed vs Unbilled Credit Card Transactions

Suppose your Credit Card statement is generated on the 5th of every month.

Transaction Date Transaction Amount Status on 5th June Statement
28 May ₹5,000 Billed
2 June ₹3,000 Billed
6 June ₹2,500 Unbilled
10 June  ₹4,000 Unbilled
Total ₹14,500

Here:

• The purchases made on 28 May and 2 June are included in the statement generated on 5 June. These are billed transactions and are payable by the due date mentioned in the statement.

• The purchases made on 6 June and 10 June occur after the statement generation date. These are unbilled transactions and will appear in the next statement.

• Your total card spending, i.e., the card limit utilised, is the sum of billed and unbilled transactions: ₹14,500, in this case.

Importance of Tracking Unbilled Credit Card Transactions

Now that you know how to track your spends, understand its importance:

  • Know Your Actual Spending

Your available credit limit may not reflect all the transactions you've already made. Tracking unbilled spends gives a more accurate picture of your current expenses.

  • Avoid Bill Shock

Large purchases made after the previous statement generation will appear in the next bill. You can monitor these unbilled transactions and anticipate your upcoming payments.

  • Manage Credit Utilisation Better

Even before they are billed, transactions consume your available credit limit. By keeping track, you can help you avoid high utilisation, which may impact your credit profile.

  • Spot Unauthorised Transactions Early

When you review unbilled transactions regularly, you can identify suspicious or incorrect charges before the billing cycle ends.

  • Plan Cash Flow and Repayments

Knowing how much is already spent but not yet billed can help you plan your finances and ensure sufficient funds are available when the payment due date arrives.

Summing up

You can’t stay in control of spends you aren’t monitoring. The HDFC Bank App offers a convenient avenue to track your Credit Card spends, both billed and unbilled.
