An e-Mandate is an electronic authorisation that allows automatic, recurring payments directly from your bank account. It eliminates the need for manual intervention each month by enabling seamless debit of payments such as loan EMIs, Credit Card dues, SIPs, insurance premiums, and utility bills.
Through HDFC Bank’s secure and RBI-approved system, you can easily register, track, or cancel your e-Mandate online — ensuring convenience, control, and timely payments.
Convenience: Automate recurring payments without manual reminders.
Timeliness: Ensures on-time payments every month.

A UMRN, or Unique Mandate Reference Number, is a system-generated identification number assigned to every registered mandate. It helps track, modify, or cancel your mandate across banks and payment platforms.
No, scanned or photocopied mandate forms are not accepted for registration. The original, signed form must be submitted to the bank for verification and processing to ensure authenticity.
You can view, manage, or cancel your active e-Mandates through HDFC Bank NetBanking under the “BillPay & Recharge” or “Mandates” section. For physical mandates, you can visit your nearest branch and submit a written request for modification or cancellation.
If the signature on your mandate form doesn’t match the bank’s records, the request will be rejected during verification. You’ll be notified to resubmit the form with the correct signature to ensure successful registration.
