What Is a Beneficiary and Why Add One?

A beneficiary is the person or organisation you wish to send money to. In simple terms, it’s the receiver of your funds. When you add a beneficiary in HDFC Bank’s NetBanking, you’re securely linking their account details so you can transfer money to them with ease — whether it’s a friend, family member, landlord, or a merchant.

Adding a beneficiary makes fund transfers quicker, safer, and more convenient. Here’s how it helps:

Faster Transfers

Once added, you can send money instantly without re-entering account details every time.

Enhanced Security

Beneficiary registration ensures your payments go to verified recipients only.

Convenience

Manage and track all your regular payees in one place for seamless transactions.

Flexibility

Transfer funds easily across HDFC Bank and other banks using NEFT, IMPS, or RTGS.

Error-Free Payments

Pre-saved details reduce the chances of entering incorrect account information.
