Steps to lock your biometrics

  • Access the UIDAI website or log in to the mAadhaar mobile application.

  • Provide your Aadhaar link number or Virtual ID (VID) to proceed with the biometric locking/unlocking process.

  • Enter the captcha code displayed on the screen and authenticate your identity by entering the One-Time Password (OTP) received on your registered mobile number.

  • Navigate to the biometric lock/unlock section on the UIDAI website or the mAadhaar app. 
    Choose the option to either lock or unlock your biometrics as per your requirement.

  • Get the mAadhaar app from Google Play for Android and the Apple App Store for iOS.
     SMS Services: UIDAI allows you to lock or unlock biometrics by sending an SMS to 1947.
