A. Definition of "Officially Valid Document" (OVD):

  • Passport

  • Driving licence

  • Proof of possession of Aadhaar (as issued by UIDAI)

  • Voter's Identity Card issued by the Election Commission of India

  • Job card issued by NREGA duly signed by an officer of the State Government

  • Letter issued by the National Population Register containing details of name and address.

 

Note: Proof of possession of Aadhaar includes:

  • Aadhaar letter issued by UIDAI.

  • E-Aadhaar downloaded from UIDAI website.

  • Aadhaar Secure QR Code.

  • Aadhaar Paperless Offline e-KYC.

 

B. Submission of Deemed OVDs for Address Proof:

If the OVD does not have an updated address, the following Deemed OVDs can be submitted for the limited purpose of proof of address, valid for 3 months:

  • Utility bill (electricity, telephone, post-paid mobile phone, piped gas, water bill) not older than two months.

  • Property or Municipal tax receipt.

  • Pension or family pension payment orders (PPOs) with addresses issued by Government Departments or Public Sector Undertakings.

  • Letter of accommodation allotment from employer issued by State Government or Central Government Departments, statutory or regulatory bodies, public sector undertakings, scheduled commercial banks, financial institutions, and listed companies, along with leave and licence agreements allotting official accommodation.

 

C. Submission Guidelines for Deemed OVDs:

In case a Deemed OVD is submitted, a Valid OVD with the current address must be provided within three months.
