Assam Chief Minister Honourable Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurates the facility at Guwahati
Guwahati, June 26, 2023: HDFC Bank, India’s leading private sector bank, under its CSR brand Parivartan, launched a 10-bed ICU facility in Guwahati, Assam on Monday. The ICU, equipped with high-quality medical equipment, was inaugurated in Guwahati Medical College Hospital by Honourable Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
HDFC Bank has partnered with Karuna Trust and eGov Foundation in this initiative. The objective of the 10-bed ICU is to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure and provide additional capabilities in the targeted belts.
Each 10-bed ICU facility launched so far is equipped with a complete range of high-quality medical equipment like Hamilton ventilators, oxygen cylinders, ICU beds, X-ray machines, ECG machines, ABG analysers, defibrillators, and other essentials.

The 10-bed ICU project is envisioned to develop the healthcare infrastructure in the country and offer affordable medical facilities even in the deeper pockets of the country. HDFC Bank was among the top CSR spenders in the country for the financial year ended March 2022. As on 31st March, 2022, the Bank spent Rs 736.01 crore on CSR initiatives. The Bank also expanded its impact by reaching more than 9.8 crore beneficiaries.
The Bank’s five pillars under Parivartan are Rural Development, Promotion of Education, Skill Training & Livelihood Enhancement, Healthcare & Hygiene, and Financial Literacy & Inclusion.
