HDFC Bank opens its first all-women branch in Puducherry

HDFC Bank now has a total of 7 branches in Puducherry
Puducherry, August 12, 2022: HDFC Bank, India’s leading bank, today announced the opening of its first all-women branch in Puducherry. The branch, located in White Town, will have 5 women bankers. This adds to all-women branches opened by the Bank in southern India. It takes forward the bank’s inherent values of diversity and inclusion. The branch was inaugurated by Smt. Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana & Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Puducherry.
Other dignitaries from the bank present during the inauguration ceremony of 7th branch in the Union Territory were Mr. Balaji Krishnamachary, Circle Head – Trichy Circle; Mr. Shanmugam J, Cluster Head – Pondicherry; and Mr. Sathish, Regional Head, Human Resource – HDFC Bank.
HDFC Bank is driving diversity and inclusion within the organization with a special focus on enhancing gender diversity. As on March 31, 2022, women constituted 21.7 per cent of the workforce and the target is to increase it to 25 per cent by 2025.
