The Beginning

I come from a family of farmers belonging to a small village in the Hingoli district of Maharashtra. As a young man, I always wanted to do something different. Even if it was farming, I wanted to try out growing different crops, like fruits and vegetables.

The Challenge

But due to our financial situation, I was not able to venture into anything other than sugarcane farming that my family was involved in. I continued farming sugarcane on the 6-7 acre land that we had but always tried to find ways to follow my dreams. It was in 2014 when I finally decided to take the plunge. There were a lot of risks involved since we didn’t have the financing, but I wanted an additional source of income.

The Partnership of Success

I approached HDFC Bank for a loan to buy a tractor. Automating work was the first step in my growth journey. And it worked wonders! Once I took the chance, things started falling into place. I brought about 13 more acres of land and started growing fruits and vegetables like I always wanted. I also ventured into growing flowers. With all of this, I was able to build a new source of income for my family. Today I and my sons continue to farm and try new crops on our 20-acre land. And with the income, I was also able to pay for my daughter’s wedding with ease.
