Important information regarding your HDFC Bank Fixed Deposit Account

We are pleased to inform you that Central or State Government establishments such as Apex Bodies, Union Government, State Government, Union Territories Government, Legislature, Judiciary, Embassies, Missions, Panchayat, Districts, Local Bodies, and certain other entities which are 100% owned by Government are eligible for exemption of penalty applicable on premature withdrawal of Fixed deposits. This will be effective from 1st July’23.

Customers are requested to contact your nearest Branch or Relationship Manager to check eligibility for above facility.

​​​​​​​Eligible customers who wish to book a new deposit / renew existing deposit with penalty waiver facility are requested to contact your nearest branch or relationship manager along with request letter (mentioning FD details) and requisite document (if required) prior to the date of renewal or booking new deposit.

Please note:

  • This facility will not be available for online booking
  • This facility will not be applicable for FDs which are auto-renewed without any prior intimation to bank seeking premature penalty waiver.
  • Request of penalty waiver will be effective from the date of renewal.
  • This facility will not be available for FD Booked or renewed before 1st July’23.
