What is an Add-on Card?

​​​An Add-on Card is a secondary Credit Card linked to your primary Credit Card account, designed to help you conveniently extend card benefits to your loved ones. It can be issued to eligible family members such- spouse, parents, siblings, or children, allowing them to make purchases using the same account.

The Add-on Card shares the same credit limit as the primary card. Primary cardholder will receive statements with clear sections for Primary and Add-on cardholders spends.

It also helps you track family spends in one place while earning Reward Points on eligible transactions.*

    1. Add-on Card will be delivered to the Primary cardholder’s address.

    2. Spend limit will be in control of the primary cardholder.

    3. Reward points will be settled on primary card account only

    4. Card specific benefits like milestone benefits, golf access, CashBack, etc., will not be applicable for add-on card

    5. Lounge access entitlements will be shared between primary and add-on

    6. Insurance feature on card is only applicable for primary

    7. Liability of all spends done by the Add-on cardholder will be that of the Primary cardholder

    8. Add-on cardholder will not have view & modify rights of the add-on card on their Net banking and Mobile banking login. Only Primary member can view the add-on cards.

    9. Add-on member must have PAN updated in the savings account to be eligible for Add-on card

    10. Only Primary cardholder will receive statements with clear sections for Primary and Add-on cardholders spends 

    11. Primary cardholder can set PIN and card limits of Add-on via NetBanking or mycards.hdfc.bank.in

    12. If Add-on cardholder is issued a different card number from primary,

    a. Add-on cardholder's mobile number will be replicated from his/her savings account 

    b. OTP for e-commerce transactions will be sent to registered mobile number of Add-on Card

    c. Add-on Card with unique card number and CVV will be dispatched within 2-3 business days

    13. A maximum of 3 add-on cards can be issued under a single primary credit card.

    14. At the Customer ID level, additional Add-on Cards cannot be applied for, if the total add-on count exceeds 10 at any given point in time.

    15. NR cards can be given on an Add-on basis to resident customers, but resident cards cannot be given on an Add-on basis to NR customers.

    16. The Bank reserves the right to decline issuance of any additional cards if the above limits are reached or based on internal policies and regulatory requirements.
