How to Make Payment Through UPI

Here is a step-by-step guide to help you learn how to make payments using UPI:

Download a UPI-Enabled App

First, ensure you have a UPI App installed on your smartphone. Popular options include HDFC Bank's PayZapp, Google Pay, and others.

Set Up Your UPI Account

After downloading the app, follow these steps to set up your UPI account:

  • Open the app and register using the mobile number linked to your bank account.
  • The app will send an SMS for mobile number verification.
  • Choose the bank account you want to link. The app automatically retrieves your account details using your registered mobile number (RMN).
  • Create a UPI PIN, which should be 4 to 6 digits long (depending on your bank). You must enter this PIN each time you make a money transfer.
