Understanding Name Addition in Bank Account

  • Name addition may mean two things:

    • Adding a New Joint Holder: You can link another person (like a spouse, parent, or child) to your Account. This gives them access to operate the Account jointly.
    • Updating an Existing Account Holder’s Name: This applies when your name has changed due to marriage, legal correction, or other reasons.
  • Both processes affect your chequebook, Debit Card, mandates and overall Account operations. In Joint Accounts, all holders’ KYC must remain updated for seamless banking.
