Cards
The blog explains how to activate your credit card for international use, detailing various methods such as using MyCards, NetBanking, EVA, WhatsApp, and Mobile Banking, as well as the need to enable international transactions before travelling abroad..
If you are travelling overseas, chances are that your Credit Card will not be of any use anyway. Surprised? That's because all Credit Cards are, by default, deactivated for international use. So, the first thing you need to do before embarking on a foreign trip is activate international transactions on your credit card!
You can do so easily by enabling international usage service on your credit card. If you hold an HDFC Bank Credit Card, you can activate the card for international use in various ways.
1. MyCards
MyCards is HDFC Bank's one-stop shop for managing your Credit Card. It is a mobile-based service platform where you can log in through your registered mobile number.
2. NetBanking
Any existing HDFC Bank customer will be all too familiar with NetBanking. You can also activate your credit card for international use here.
3. EVA
You will find EVA, HDFC Bank's digital assistant, on your mobile app as well as the HDFC Bank website.
4. Whatsapp
HDFC Bank is also available on WhatsApp. All you need to do is to open Chat Banking with +91-7070022222 on WhatsApp.
5. Mobile Banking
To change your HDFC Bank Credit Card's international usage status, you can also log in to your HDFC Bank Mobile Banking app using your PIN or Touch ID.
Keeping international usage off is a standard precautionary measure to ensure the safety of your card usage. This protects your credit card from unauthorised usage by overseas hackers and frauds. This applies to new cardholders or ones who had cards re-issued, renewed or upgraded. As explained above, you can enable international usage at any time in a few simple steps and through any of your preferred mediums.
