  • Online Transfer:
    7am to 7pm on RBI working day :
    The maximum amount of funds that can be transferred per day is as per the customer's TPT limit (Maximum upto Rs.50 Lakhs)

    From 7pm - 7am on working days & all holidays (including 2nd & 4th Saturdays and
    Sundays) :
    A maximum of Rs.2.00 lacs per transaction can be transferred subject to TPT limit. (Multiples of Rs 2 Lacs upto the TPT limit chosen by the customer. Maximum upto Rs. 50 Lakh)

    For security reasons, the bank allows you to transfer money up to Rs 50,000/- only to the newly added beneficiary (in full or parts) during the first 24 hours from adding the new beneficiary.

FAQs

The National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) system is a nation-wide funds transfer system to facilitate transfer of funds from any bank branch to any other bank branch

For an NEFT remittance, the remitter has to furnish the following information:

  • Amount to be remitted
  • Remitting customer's account number which is to be debited
  • Name of the beneficiary bank
  • Name of the beneficiary
  • Account number of the beneficiary
  • Sender to receiver information, if any
  • IFSC code of the destination bank branch

Credit card payments can be completed easily through HDFC Bank’s NEFT service under NetBanking.

There are a few points to note:

  • You need to have the NetBanking and Third Party Funds Transfer facilities enabled (If you’re not yet registered, just visit your nearest HDFC Bank branch and fill the form).
  • The Credit card issuing bank must be enabled to receive payments via NEFT
  • The IFSC should be obtained from the Credit card issuing bank (without the correct IFSC, the transaction will be rejected)

Steps to make your Credit card payment –

Step 1 – Go to Fund Transfer tab, and click Transfer to other bank

Step 2 – Select account, beneficiary, and enter the relevant details

Step 4 – Review the details, and, if all is correct, confirm to complete the process

The transaction will be settled to your beneficiary as per the RBI batch which ideally takes 30 mins to 4 hours.

Yes. If the beneficiary's bank is unable to credit the beneficiary's account for any reason, the former will return the money to the remitting bank within 2 business hours of completion of the batch in which the transaction was processed. Once the amount is received by the remitting bank, it is credited to the remitter's account by the branch concerned.

This is a service designed only for remitting Indian Rupees within India.

IFSC stands for ‘Indian Financial System Code’. It is an 11 digit, alpha numeric code designed to identify bank branches in India. The beneficiary customer can obtain the IFSC code from his bank branch. The IFSC code is also available on the cheque leaf. The list of IFSCs is also available on the RBI website (https://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/IFSCMICRDetails.aspx).

As of now, NEFT operates in half hourly batch settlements from 7 am to 7 pm on all working days. For transactions settled in the 6.30 and 7pm batches, the credit will be afforded on the next working day.

For NEFT you will need to begin by adding a beneficiary. Then you can go on to make a funds transfer or Credit card payment.

For online transaction, both the NetBanking and Third Party Funds Transfer facilities should be enabled. (If you’re not yet registered, just fill the form at your closest HDFC Bank branch).

 

Netbanking :

Steps to add beneficiary for NEFT-

Step 1 - Log into HDFC Bank NetBanking/MobileBanking, using your Customer ID and Password

Step 2 – Go to Funds Transfer tab

Step 3 - Click ‘Add a Beneficiary’, and then select Beneficiary Type – Transfer to other bank

Step 4 – Enter the beneficiary account details or Credit card number

Step 5 – Select the Beneficiary’s IFSC, using the bank and branch name

Step 6 – Click ‘Add’, then ‘Confirm’

Step 7 – Authenticate yourself at the secure access step, and wait for your confirmation message

 

Steps to make your NEFT funds transfer –

Step 1 – Go to Fund Transfer tab, and select 'Transfer to other bank(NEFT)'

Step 2 – Select account, beneficiary, and enter the relevant details

Step 3 – Accept the Terms and Conditions

Step 4 – Review the details, and, if all is correct, confirm to complete the process

 

Note:

  • Post activation of a beneficiary, Rs 50,000 (in full or parts) can be transferred for the first 24 hours.
  • A maximum of 4 beneficiaries can be added in a period of 24 hours.

 

Mobile Banking :

Log into HDFC Bank Mobile banking app

Go to Menu ( left hand side top )

Click - pay and select Money transfer option

Click Add new payee

Step 1: Select transfer type ( bank account or Credit card )

Step 2: Enter payee details ( HDFC AC or NON HDFC AC etc)

Step 3: Select the IFSC, using the bank and branch name.

Step 4: Re-check all the details and Click 'Add' and then 'Confirm'

 

Please ensure that you have entered the correct account details. HDFC Bank will not be able to validate the beneficiary details and the bank is not responsible for any debits made to the account number provided by you

Please note After completing the addition of the beneficiary it will take 30 minutes for the Beneficiary details to get enabled in your account.

 

To transfer funds: Go to > Menu ( left hand side top) >Pay> Money Transfer > View All payees> Select the beneficiary, fill in the required details and confirm.

Post activation of a beneficiary you can transfer amount up to Rs 50,000/- (in full or parts) for the first 24 hours.

 

Branch :

Customer can go to any of the HDFC Bank branch to effect transfer by providing cheque & duly filled NEFT form signed by appropriate signatories.

Terms and Conditions

  • I/We am/are desirous of availing the Electronic Funds Transfer Facility through the RBI NEFT System. In consideration of the Bank agreeing to extend to me/us the said facility. I/ We hereby agree to and undertake the following terms and conditions which are in addition to the terms and conditions applicable to the Account including those related to NetBanking definitions: -

Customer, I, We me, my or us means the person named here- in availing the NEFT Facility and shall include both singular and plural.

"Bank" means "HDFC Bank Limited".

"NEFT Facility" means the National Electronic Funds Transfer Facility through the RBI NEFT System.

"Security Procedure" means a procedure established between the bank and the customer for the purpose of verifying that the payment order or communication amending or canceling a payment order transmitted electronically is that of the customer or for detecting error in the transmission for the content of the payment order or communication. A security procedure may require the use of algorithms or other codes, identifying words or numbers, encryption, callback procedures or similar security devices.

These terms and conditions shall govern every payment order issued by the customer under the NEFT facility.

The customer understands and acknowledges that nothing contained herein shall be construed as creating any contractual or other rights against the Reserve Bank of India or any participant in the NEFT System other than the bank.

This Agreement shall come into force as soon as a request for NEFT/ is made by the customer and/or a security procedure is established by mutual agreement between the bank and the customer.

These terms and conditions and any modifications thereto shall remain valid and binding on the customer.

The customer shall be entitled, subject to other terms and conditions herein and the Regulations to issue payment order for execution by the bank.

Payment order shall be issued by the customer in the form complete in all particulars. The customer shall be responsible for the accuracy of the particulars given in the payment order issued by him and shall be liable to compensate the bank for any loss arising on account of any error in his payment order.

The customer shall be bound by any payment order executed by the bank if the bank has executed the payment order in good faith and in compliance with the security procedure.

The customer shall ensure availability of funds in his account properly applicable to the payment order before the execution of the payment order by the bank. Where however, the bank executes the payment order without properly applicable funds being available in the customer’s account the customer shall be bound to pay to the bank the amount debited to his account for which an NEFT was executed by the bank pursuant to his payment order together with the charges including interest payable to the bank.

The customer hereby authorises the bank to debit to his account for any liability incurred by him to the bank for execution by the bank of any payment order issued by him.

Customer agrees that the payment order shall become irrevocable when it is executed by bank.

Customer agrees that the bank is not bound by any notice of revocation unless it is in compliance with the security procedure.

Customer agrees that he shall not be entitled to make any claim against any party in the RBI NEFT System except the bank.

Customer agrees that in the event of any delay in the completion of the Funds Transfer or any loss on account of error in the execution of the Funds Transfer pursuant to a payment order, the bank’s liability shall be limited to the extent of payment of interest at the Bank Rate for any period of delay in the case of delayed payment and refund of the amount together with interest at the Bank rate upto the date of refund, in the event of loss on account of error, negligence or fraud on the part of any employee of the bank.

Customer agrees that no special circumstances shall attach to any payment order executed under the NEFT facility under this Agreement and under no circumstance customer shall be entitled to claim any compensation in excess of that which is provided in clause (9) above, for any breach of contract or otherwise.

The bank shall execute a payment order issued by the customer duly authenticated by him as verified by the security procedure, unless:
1.The funds available in the account of the customer are not adequate or properly applicable to comply with the payment order and the customer has not made any other arrangement to meet the payment obligation
2.The payment order is incomplete or it is not issued in the agreed form.
3.The payment order is attached with notice of any special circumstances.
4.The bank has reason to believe that the payment order is issued to carry out an unlawful transaction.
5.The payment order cannot be executed under the RBI NEFT System.

No payment order issued by the customer shall be binding on the bank until the bank has accepted it.

The bank shall, upon execution of every payment order by it , be entitled to debit the designated account of the customer, the amount of the funds transferred together with charges payable thereon, whether or not the account has sufficient balance.

The customer agrees that NEFT facility is being availed at the customer's own risks including but not limited to misuse of password, internet fraud, mistakes & errors, technology risks , the customer understands and accepts that the bank shall not be responsible or liable in respect of the said risks.

HDFC BANK shall not be liable for any loss of damage arising or resulting from delay in transmission delivery or non-delivery of Electronic messages or any mistake, omission, or error in transmission or delivery thereof or in deciphering the message from any cause whatsoever or from its misinterpretation received or any other action beyond its control.

All payment instructions should be checked carefully by the customer.

The Funds transfer request made by end of day today (Day 0) will be presented to RBI latest on Day1

The amount will be debited at the start of the chosen calendar date for NEFT Standing Instructions, or NEFT Pay Later set via NetBanking or the Mobile Banking App. To avoid returned payments, please ensure a sufficient balance in your account one day before the Standing Instruction date.
