Onboarding FAQS for Savings Accounts

The savings account can be operated by the account holder(s) as mentioned in the account opening form. For joint accounts, operations follow the selected mode (single / joint / either or survivor). Minor accounts are operated by the guardian until applicable.

If KYC is pending, you can complete it digitally through the link shared by HDFC Bank on SMS/Email/Whatsapp or by visiting the nearest branch with valid KYC documents. Full account features may be enabled only after KYC completion.

Here is the list of accepted KYC documents:

    Proof of Identity:

  • Aadhaar Card/Letter
  • Passport
  • PAN Card
  • Voters ID Card
  • Driving License
  • NREGA Job Card
  • Photo ID issued by Government/PSU

    Proof of Address:

  • Passport
  • Voter ID Card
  • Driving License
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Utility Bills (Gas, Electricity, Water, Telephone – less than 1-3 months old)
  • Bank Statement/Passbook
  • Ration Card
  • Lease Agreement/Sale Deed

Your savings account is opened immediately after successful onboarding. Certain services such as debit card usage, transaction limits or digital banking features may be enabled within a few working days, subject to KYC verification.

It is mandatory for your PAN to be updated in your savings account records. Aadhaar helps complete the KYC process and enables smoother digital services. If either is missing, we will ask you to update it to avoid service restrictions.

Your debit card is dispatched to your registered address after successful account opening. A welcome message or communication is sent once the card is issued. Delivery timelines may vary by location.
