Cross currency charges

  • For transactions where the transaction currency is different than the currency available on Hajj Umrah Forex card bank will charge cross currency markup of 3% on such transactions.
  • Exchange rate used will be the VISA/MasterCard wholesale exchange rate prevailing at the time of the transaction.
  • Exchange rate used will be the Mid-rate prevailing at the time of the transaction.
  • The customer will be charged for availing GCAS facility of Visa as per the prevailing charges

Limit of Amount that can be loaded on Forex Cards as per Liberated Remittance Scheme

  • Maximum USD $250,000 in a financial year

*Note: Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), is a facility where all resident individuals (as defined under FEMA 1999), including minors, are allowed to freely remit up to USD 250,000 per financial year (April – March) for any permissible current or capital account transaction or a combination of both.

How to apply for the HDFC Bank Regalia ForexPlus Card? 

You can apply for a Regalia ForexPlus Card online, through our Website or by visiting an HDFC Bank branch near you.

For HDFC Bank Customers

  • Step 1: Enter your Customer ID or RMN and the verification code sent on it.
  • Step 2: Fill out the application form, entering details like, country of travel, currency type and total currency required.
  • Step 3: Find out the total cost, including amount loaded, Forex conversion charges, etc., and complete the payment process.
  • Step 4: Provide your address and other necessary information in the Traveller Details section of the form.
  • Step 5: Your Forex Card will be delivered to you on the address provided.

For Non-HDFC Bank Customers

  • Step 1: Enter your mobile number and the verification code sent on it.
  • Step 2: Fill out the application form, entering details like, country of travel, currency type and total currency required.
  • Step 3: Find out the total cost, including amount loaded, Forex conversion charges, etc., and complete the payment process.
  • Step 4: Provide your address and other necessary information in the Traveller Details section of the form.
  • Step 5: Visit the nearest HDFC Bank branch, verify KYC documents, and collect your Forex Card.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, your Hajj Umrah ForexPlus card should not be used towards temporary charge blocks - e.g. paying deposits at hotels, hiring of cars etc. In case you have paid these deposits using the Hajj Umrah ForexPlus card and the hotel/car rental agency, etc., settles the transaction for an amount lesser than the amount blocked, or you make a final payment through any different mode, the balance amount will get credited into your account only after 30 days from the transaction date. Note: The Bank reserves the right to charge the cardholder for any unauthorised amounts.

The Hajj Umrah Card is a single currency Forex Card exclusively designed for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to carry Saudi Riyals conveniently.

The required documents include a self-attested copy of the PAN card, a self-attested copy of a valid passport, and in the case of non-HDFC Bank customers, additional documents such as a cancelled cheque/passbook and a copy of a 1-year bank statement.

The card issuance fee is ₹200 plus applicable GST per card, the reload fee is ₹75 plus applicable GST per reload transaction, and the re-issuance of card fee is ₹100 per card. Please refer to our fees section. Click here for detailed information.

  • Self-attested copy of valid passport (mandatory)
  • Self-attested copy of valid VISA or ticket (optional for existing HDFC Bank customers and mandatory for non-HDFC Bank customers)
