Business Activity Loan

Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

  • The Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a credit-linked subsidy initiative administered by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) serves as the national nodal agency responsible for implementing the scheme.
  • To generate employment opportunities in both rural and urban areas by establishing new self-employment ventures, projects, and micro-enterprises.
  • The project cost is ₹25 lakh for a manufacturing unit and ₹10.00 lakhs for a service unit.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna (PMMY)

  • Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) is a scheme initiated by the Government of India through MUDRA (a subsidiary of SIDBI), aimed at facilitating micro-credit up to ₹10 lakh for small business owners.
  • Launched on April 8th, 2015, PMMY aims to extend credit primarily to non-farm enterprises in manufacturing, trading, and services with credit needs below ₹10 lakh. 
  • Collateral-free: Mudra Loans are provided without the need for collateral. 
  • Categories: The scheme categorizes loans under Shishu (up to ₹50,000), Kishore (from ₹50,000 to ₹5 lakh), and Tarun (from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh). 
  • Eligible businesses include small manufacturing enterprises, shopkeepers, and similar entities.

Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor aatmanirbhar nidhi scheme (PM Svanidhi)

  • The PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme, launched in June during the pandemic, provides a micro-credit facility specifically for street vendors.
  • The scheme aims to offer collateral-free working capital loans with a tenure of one year, providing up to ₹10,000 to approximately 50 lakh street vendors. This initiative supports them in restarting their businesses in urban areas, including surrounding peri-urban and rural areas.

Standup India Scheme (Standup India)

  •  The Stand-Up India (SUI) scheme, aimed at financing SC/ST and/or Women Entrepreneurs, was launched by the Honorable Prime Minister on April 5, 2016.
  • The scheme offers loans ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹1 crore to at least one SC or ST borrower and at least one woman borrower per bank branch. These loans are intended for establishing greenfield enterprises in the manufacturing, services, or trading sectors.
  • For non-individual enterprises, it is required that at least 51% of the shareholding and controlling stake be held by either an SC/ST or Woman entrepreneur.
  • Loan Amount Limit: ₹10 lakh to ₹1 crore.
  • Categories: For non-individual enterprises, 51% of the shareholding and controlling stake must be held by SC/ST and/or Women Entrepreneurs.

WCC - Weavers Credit Card

  • The scheme benefits are available for weavers and ancillary workers engaged in weaving activities.
  • Preference will be given to weavers identified under the third census of handloom weavers and those identified by state governments.

Livelihood Loan

DeenDayal Antyodaya Yojana National Rural Livelihoods Mission (Day – NRLM)

  • The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the urban poor for setting up individual and group enterprises in the form of interest subsidies on bank loans.
  • Interest subsidies are provided on bank loans for setting up individual or group enterprises, offered over and above the 7% standard rate of interest.

Self-Employment Scheme for Rehabilitation of Manual Scavengers (SRMS)

  • The scheme aims to rehabilitate manual scavengers and their dependents.
  • Identified scavengers receive training, loans, and subsidies. Loans are provided by banks to candidates sponsored exclusively by State Channelising Agencies.
  • After loan sanction, banks claim the capital subsidy amount from State Channelising Agencies, which is disbursed along with the loan to the beneficiary.
  • Beneficiaries have the freedom to choose any viable income-generating self-employment project.

  • The scheme aims to improve marketing and supporting infrastructure in Gramin Agricultural Markets (GrAMs) and regulated wholesale markets of APMC/RMC. This development targets enhancing farmers' market accessibility, reducing post-harvest losses, marketing costs, and intermediaries in the supply chain.
  • The primary objective of the scheme is to provide financial support to agriculture entrepreneurs to enhance agricultural infrastructure across India.

CSIS - Central Scheme for Interest Subsidy on Education Loans for Economically Weaker Sections (CSIS):

  • This scheme provides interest subsidy on education loans for pursuing education within India.
  • Eligible institutions include NAAC accredited institutions offering professional/technical courses, programs accredited by NBA, institutions of national importance, or Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).
  • The subsidy can be availed once, either for undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), or integrated courses (graduate + postgraduate).

Padho Pradesh Scheme:

  • The objective of this scheme is to provide interest subsidy to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of notified minority communities.
  • The interest subsidy is available once, either for Masters, MPhil, or PhD levels.

Dr Ambedkar Central Sector Scheme of Interest Subsidy on Education Loan for Overseas Studies for OBCs & EBCs:

  • This scheme applies to Master's, MPhil, and Doctorate programs for OBC candidates.
  • OBC candidates must meet the creamy layer criteria based on their total income from all sources.
  • EBC (Economically Backward Class) candidates are eligible if their total income from all sources does not exceed ₹2.5 lakhs per annum.
