That’s where a Critical Illness Insurance plan equips an individual to financially handle serious health conditions. With Critical Illness Insurance, ICICI Lombard will pay the insured the Sum Insured as chosen by him / her in lump sum post Insured survives the survival period of 30 days.

This lump sum amount can be utilised towards payment of medical expenses and can also substitute many necessary and basic living expenditures, which otherwise would have to be avoided, resulting in an otherwise unpleasant situation. Other than lumpsum, one can choose benefit of reimbursement/payment of hospitalization expenses for treatment of the critical illness diagnosed on survival for more than 30 days. The covers are available on lump sum benefit and indemnity basis.

Exclusions

Hospitalization expenses for treatment taken for disease or illness within 60 days of inception of the policy is excluded. However, this exclusion is not applicable on subsequent renewals with the Company without a break.

Any pre-existing conditions/ diseases/ injuries at the inception of the policy cover.

Treatment received overseas

Medical treatment required following any criminal act of the insured

Cataract, laser surgery

Myomectomy, Hysterectomy unless because of malignancy

Dilation and curettage, Hernia, Hydrocele, fistula in anus, sinusitis, haemorrhoids/piles

Joint replacement, unless due to accident

All types of skin and all internal tumours / cysts / nodules / polyps of any kind, including breast lumps, unless malignant  Dialysis required for chronic renal failure

Personal Accident policy covers one against physical loss, disablement or death arising out of an accidental bodily injury or major accident. It pays compensation for any accidental death or disablement occurring in any part of the world.

The benefits include Accidental death, Permanent Total Disablement, Permanent Partial Disablement, Double Indemnity for Accidental Death or Permanent Total Disability while travelling as a passenger in a public conveyance and Hospital Daily Cash. Hospital cash and Double indemnity is covered only on Rs. 30 lacs Sum Insured plans.

A policy is issued for a period of 12 months

This policy covers the insured in whose name the policy is taken. Each policy covers one earning member between the age of 18-65 years.
