NRO Savings Account Eligibility
The minimum balance you must maintain in your HDFC Bank’s NRO Savings Account is ₹10,000 or its equivalent in the accepted foreign currency.
HDFC Bank’s NRO Savings Account has no restrictions on debits for transactions within India. However, there are certain restrictions related to repatriation of funds overseas. Additionally, deposits can be made in both, Indian rupees or foreign currency, but withdrawals are only permitted in Indian rupees.
If you are a Non-Resident Indian or a Person of Indian origin residing abroad, you qualify for an NRO Savings Account. You should also be at least 18 years of age. Individuals can open a joint NRO account with another NRI/PIO/OCI or with a Resident Indian, who is a close relative.
