To remit funds to India, you need to enter the following details in the remittance form.

  • HDFC Bank's Nostro Account number
  • HDFC Bank's SWIFT Code
  • Your or your beneficiary's account number with HDFC Bank
  • Disposal instructions. For example, open a new NRE Savings Account or book a new FCNR Deposit for 1 year in US dollars

Please note:

  • To prevent the money from being converted to Indian rupees, do not include your NRE or NRO savings account number when sending money for an FCNR deposit. As a point of reference, you could state your customer ID number.
  • On the remittance form, please indicate the purpose code in fields 70 and 72. Click here for the list of purpose codes.

Frequently Asked Questions

HDFC Bank charges the following fees for international transfers made through net banking:

  • Up to $500 or equivalent: ₹500 per transaction.
  • Above $500 or equivalent: ₹1000 per transaction.

In addition to these fees, there is an additional 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST) applicable to commission and fees.

There is no limit on the money transfer done by Wire Transfer from USA to India.
